I read more of the mystery super specials (or whatever they were called) than just the regular ones, though.

I've read many of the books in the Xanth trilogy, but I didn't hear of them until college -- they're so punny, I love it.

I remember trying to read A Wrinkle in Time in elementary or middle school, but I couldn't get into it. It might have been just a bit out of my realm of understanding at the time. I don't even recall what it's about, really.

Great list, and thanks for stopping by my blog!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5642608067622889078.post-6277388817002513642011-12-08T21:40:25.321-05:002011-12-08T21:40:25.321-05:00So many great books on there that I wish I'd r...So many great books on there that I wish I'd read as a kid. I'm gald you like the Hobbit, but it isn't really my thing. I'm thinking after I've read the LOTR I might go back and try again. I'll never like it, probably, but I want to see if I can not dislike it! Besides that though, I haven't read any of those books.

I think as a child, we're more picky since we want books we know we'll like- otherwise that money would be better spent on toys!!! And as you concurred, we were both hardly readersome! :-DAlexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15530490398283237371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5642608067622889078.post-55800114378223247962011-12-07T06:35:35.083-05:002011-12-07T06:35:35.083-05:00@DJL - Ah, sounds like you were quite a horse fan....@DJL - Ah, sounds like you were quite a horse fan. I was never bitten by the horsey bug, myself.

@Nancy - I'm seeing lots of common themes in everyone's top ten picks. Seems like those childhood classics really made an impact. I have a mad idea that it would be cool to put together some kind of chart comparing how many votes everything got, but I just don't have the time. :PMadigan Mirzahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03298558705488237857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5642608067622889078.post-41171045104304243512011-12-06T17:37:07.846-05:002011-12-06T17:37:07.846-05:00I got Nancy Drew, The Baby-Sitters Club, and Charl...I got Nancy Drew, The Baby-Sitters Club, and Charlotte's Web on my list, too. Though it's good to have an idea of what to expect. :D

I read lots of Babysitters Club books - and I've seen them on almost all the lists I've seen so far - but I didn't love them. It was hard to relate, to be honest. I read them because there wasn't much else to read, or so it seemed.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!Shannon (Giraffe Days)https://www.blogger.com/profile/00873129203015194947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5642608067622889078.post-3616716570294247382011-12-06T11:00:42.460-05:002011-12-06T11:00:42.460-05:00I forgot about so many of these!
