WHAT I WILL NOT REVIEW:
- I do not accept self-published books for review. This includes books by "indie" or independent publishers.
- I do not review books written for the adult market, even those with teen crossover appeal.
- I do not review Christian fiction.
ABOUT THE REVIEWS:
- All posted reviews are entirely my own opinion, and do not necessarily reflect the views or opinions of my employer.
- If I accept a book for review, I cannot always guarantee to provide a review.
- I strive for honest reviews. If I love a book, I will be happy to explain why in my review. If I had problems with a book, they will be addressed in a fair, professional manner.
- As a librarian, I am a firm believer in Ranganathan's Third Law: Every reader his (or her) book. If a book didn't work for me, I will discuss who I would recommend it to.
- If I am reviewing a book from a series where I have not read the preceding books, I will comment in my review about how well it works as a stand-alone.
- Any ARCs received will either be added to my personal collection, or given away as prizes at my library. I do not sell ARCs.
- Reviews are typically between ~200-750 words.
- All reviews will note where I obtained the book: from the publisher, from the library, or from a purchase.
- Reviews are posted on my blog, on Amazon and Goodreads.
AGE RANGE:
I review books for children of all ages, from birth through teen. I do not review books for adults. I review board books, picture books, beginning chapter books, middle-grade fiction, YA fiction, graphic novels, poetry and non-fiction for children and teens.
BOOK GENRES:
My favorite genres are YA, science-fiction and fantasy, however, I do try to review books from a broad variety of genres: sports, historical fiction, realistic fiction, mysteries, graphic novels, poetry, adventure and non-fiction.
FORMATS:
I accept e-books or print ARCs for review.
