Enclave trailer

I hadn't been planning on reading this book Enclave by Ann Aguirre... but I think this trailer may have changed my mind. It sounds like just the thing for Hunger Games and Forest of Hands and Teeth fans.

  1. The video was cheesy at times, but now I'm having second thoughts on the book. I just might go and read it if I'm reminded of it, haha.

  2. Book trailers are becoming a more necessary part of any book's marketing scheme. What I thought was interesting about this one, was, I heard the book description -- didn't want to read it. I saw the cover -- didn't want to to read it. It was this trailer that really changed my mind.

Another, really powerful example of how important book trailers are: I've read the first two books in the Wondrous Strange series by Lesley Livingston. I'd heard about Tempestuous, the third in the series, but decided to pass. The cover design is magical... but based on what I've read so far, again, I decided to pass. I saw the trailer, and changed my mind.

    Whoa.

Think about that for a minute.

I decided NOT to buy a book based on: The. Actual. Content. Of. The. Books. But CHANGED my mind, based on the trailer, thinking, "Hey, maybe this is a trilogy that kind of dips in the middle, and turns out awesome later." That's pretty powerful, and a real testament to the power of the visual medium, I think.
