Do you have pets?
Yes! Until recently, had anyone asked, the answer would have been "no" but I recently got a 10-gallon fishtank. My first set of fish, sadly, didn't make it. They were cherry barbs that I had named after Harry Potter characters. My new fish are fancy-tailed guppies - Kirk and Spock, and Chekhov and Sulu. It's a bachelor tank, because I don't want the tank taken over by guppy offspring. Science-fiction seemed to offer the largest number of male names to pick from.
lol LOVE the names! Both Harry Potter and ESPECIALLY the Star Trek...not nearly enough people appreciate Kirk Spock Chekhov and Sulu anymore...actually...now that you've mentioned them I think I'll check out the movie again.... :)

Thank you for stopping by my place. Ironically your answer to today's hop question was a similar conversation I recently had with my 90 yr old Mom during a visit. My first "pets" growing up were goldfish that my Dad had bought, approx 10 large ones in a big tank. Never having them before, he thought that they might be hungry and fed them the whole container of food. They didn't survive the night.
ReplyDeleteSounds cool! Love the names you gave them. hehe I am terrible with any kind of tank/cage dwelling animal. I tend to be horrible and cleaning them. We have a turtle but I'm thinking of giving him away because I just don't give him enough attention!

I've only ever had one fish, not a full tank of them. Great names. Do the males get aggressive with each other (I doubt it, but I think certain types like betas do)?

They don't really get aggressive with each other... they get cranky if they haven't been fed in a while - guppies love to eat, so the only real danger is overfeeding them, since they'll enthusiastically chow down almost everything you give them.
