Book Blogger Hop 16

The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Jennifer at Crazy for Books.

This week's question is:

What is your favorite Halloween costume?

Last year I went as Little Red Riding Hood, and much to my surprise, none of the trick-or-treaters I met had any idea who I was! I tried to prod them, "Hey, I'm wearing a red cape, and here's my picnic basket with treats for granny! Now do you know who I am??" They looked up at me with wide-eyes, clearly having no clue who I was supposed to be. Their parents told me that the kids didn't know the story of Red Riding Hood, because they'd decided it was too scary for them. Unbelievable!

  2. Hey thanks for stopping by my blog :)
Yeah, Australia knows what Halloween is and some people provide really crappy lollies and chocolate, but only in the upper suburbs. Also, we don't really celebrate at all!!
I CAN'T believe that no kid knew what Red Riding Hood was! Kids are far too sensitive these days! (listen to me, making myself sound like I'm above the age of 20 and everything haha!)

I'm a new follower by the way :)

  3. I'm constantly amazed at the things that today's parents claim are "too scary" for the precious wee tykes. For crying out loud--kids LIKE being scared! (Within reason, of course. I'm not advocating terrorizing the little buggers or anything)

  6. Little Red Riding Hood, too scary?! Goodness me, who knew. My bro and his wife have a whole Red Riding hood theme going on for their Halloween. My bro is going to be the Woodsman, his wife the granny, his daughter Red and his son the Wolf. LOL! Gotta love Halloween. My favorite costume are the funny ones. I saw a Juno and Polly costume the other day I had to giggle.
